Want to know what I’m talking about? Keep reading!

Morning Adventures: Taking the FrontRunner to Provo

During the morning that day, my boyfriend told me to get ready because we were heading to Provo via the FrontRunner train. He’s a walker—a real walker—and I’ll share his story in another post soon.

We took the train and arrived in Provo, where we started our journey walking across the city. By the time it was almost noon, we were feeling hungry. Naturally, my boyfriend, being the local expert, suggested we try a place called Guru’s Cafe. Let me tell you why this spot is a must-visit for anyone exploring Provo and Orem in a day.

Lunch at Guru’s Cafe: Eclectic Vibes and Delicious Food

“Eating with an enlightened experience” is how Guru’s Cafe describes itself on Instagram, and I couldn’t agree more!

Convenient Locations

Guru’s Cafe offers four different locations for your convenience:

  • Guru’s UVU: 815 College Dr CB #109, Orem, UT 84058

Why You’ll Love It

This cafe is an eclectic gem with funky decorations, a laid-back vibe, and high creative energy. It’s ideal for casual dining. The food? Absolutely delicious! Their menu is diverse, offering everything from burritos and croissants to pancakes and toast.

That day, I enjoyed a comforting bowl of traditional clam chowder, while my boyfriend had the coconut squash soup. Both dishes were flavorful and satisfying. If you’re looking for inspiration, a welcoming environment, and amazing food, Guru’s Cafe should be at the top of your list!

Exploring Provo’s Local Shops

After lunch, we continued our journey westward and stumbled upon several charming local shops, including an antique store, a pet shop, and even the Utah Valley Convention Center. These little detours added an element of surprise and discovery to our day.

Afternoon Coffee Break at Peace on Earth Cafe

As a Costa Rican, coffee is essential for me, so our next stop was Peace on Earth Cafe.

A Cozy and Inviting Atmosphere

This cafe is perfect for relaxing, catching up on work, or meeting with friends. With its cozy decor and peaceful vibe, you’ll immediately feel at ease. Their diverse menu includes coffee, tea, wine, beer, kombucha, and light bites, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Seasonal Specials and Pet-Friendly Fun

When we visited, we couldn’t resist trying their seasonal Christmas coffees—so delicious! Plus, the cafe is pet-friendly, which is a bonus. I couldn’t help but melt at the sight of adorable puppies enjoying the tranquil ambiance.

Peace on Earth Coffee has two locations:

Evening Inspiration at Utah Valley University

Our last stop for the day was the Utah Valley University (UVU) campus in Orem.

A Campus with a View

The UVU campus is breathtaking, with its stunning views of Utah Lake and the majestic mountains surrounding it. The campus fosters creativity and growth, offering modern facilities like a vibrant library, spacious study areas, and more.

We spent some time working at the UVU library, feeling inspired by the serene environment and incredible scenery. It was the perfect way to wrap up our day of exploration in Provo and Orem.

Our day was packed with amazing views, delicious food, and plenty of opportunities to learn and explore. If you’re planning to visit Utah, I hope this post gives you some ideas for your trip. And if you’re not planning a trip yet, what are you waiting for?
